The Alliance For Change yesterday said that strongly believes that religion should be a unifying and empowering force of Change in Guyana.
In its Eid-ul-Adha message, the party extended sincere greetings to all Guyanese and more especially to the Muslim brothers and sisters on this auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Adha; the Feast of Sacrifice, when Allah appeared to Ibrahim in a dream and asked him to sacrifice his son Isma’il as an act of obedience to God.
“The observance of this act of obedience and submission performed by Prophet Ibraheem and his family is not only very significant to the followers of Islam but also to Jews and Christians as it is recorded in the Torah and the Bible as well,” The release stated.
The party is urging that the observance of this festival unite all Guyanese as one family, willing and prepared to make sacrifice for Change; assured that through faith and trust in the Almighty the nation can make Guyana a paradise for its children and future generations.
