Cornelia Ida beat Meten-Meer-Zorg East by 67 runs in the latest round of action in the A. Khan Lumber Yard under-19 cricket competition in West Demerara.
CI made 188-4 in 35 overs with Ameer Khan stroking four fours and five sixes in a delightful 92, while 10-year-old Aksharya Persaud supported 24 as Parmesh Rambharose took 2 – 40 for Meten-Meer-Zorg East who fell for 121. Akesh Surpaul led the way with 41 while Ajay Ram made 18.
Ten-year-old left-arm spinner Aksharya Persaud captured 4-21.
At Zeeburg, Meten-Meer-Zorg S.C beat Leonora by one wicket. Leonora Innings – 121 all out in 20.3 overs with Ravindranauth Ramdhani scoring 37 and Farad Mohamed 30.
Rooplall Deonarine (3-14), Leyland Sobers (2-25) and Avinash Sookhoo (2-6) were the main wicket takers for Meten-Meer-Zorg Sport Club who reached 122-9 in 23.3 overs.
Kapil Sookram top scored with 24 while Mark Samuels made 21. Yasir Alli took 3-19 and Farad Mohamed 3-22.
