Dear Editor,
I am living in McDoom, East Bank, Demerara. Every single month the water pump has a problem; always breaking down and no senior person at GWI is saying anything.
Whenever this happens, villagers are without water for three days. It’s disgusting and nobody seems to care.
When you call (227-8701) GWI and ask to speak to the supervisor, that person is never available.
The switch board operator, a female, always say by afternoon you will get back water, and this does not happen until after the three-day period.
Can GWI say why this happens every month? Why can’t GWI fix the pump properly? It looks like someone is tampering with the pump.
Mrs. Braithwaite
