Half of the teams who made it to the group of sixteen round in the inaugural Guinness ‘Greatest of de Street’ Football competition have been knocked out with the others advancing to the quarter-finals set for Tuesday evening.
After the group stages, Friday evening commencement of the knock-out stage promised some exhilarating action and it did live up to that expectation as three of the games had to be decided via penalty kicks, regulation and extra time failing to break the deadlock.

The other match up being decided via this route was the North Last Entrance / Plaisance battle which was a thrilling match from start to finish. The high scoring affair saw the East Coast based unit taking the early lead with a back healed goal from Chris Gomes which sent the crowd wild in applause.
Troy Kellman though, would strike back for North with the first of a double in the 5th minute. One minute later, Travis ‘Zorro’ Grant sent North into the lead but the Plaisance team never backed off.
One minute after the resumption, Plaisance struck back to level the scores, Wayne Gilkes tapping in. As the battle continued, the East Coast team retook the lead with Gomes tucking in his second in the 15th minute but Kellman was not to be outdone and he too netted his second one minute later to lock the game at 3-3.
