At approximately 09:00 hours yesterday, members of the Guyana Police Force discovered the body of an unidentified man, with injuries to the back and neck, along the main road in Madewini on the Soesdyke/Linden Highway.
It is suspected that the man was the victim of a hit and run accident.
According to a police release, the man, clad only in a pair of blue underwear, is approximately 40 years old, and of East Indian descent.
The body was taken to the Lyken’s Funeral Home where it awaits identification.
The police have asked for anyone with any information which may lead to the identification of the deceased to contact the police.
