Danny Narayan stroked 11 fours on a fast GCC sward in an entertaining 74 on Sunday last to help Malteenoes Sports Club (MSC) to an emphatic 150-run win against a depleted Third Class line-up in the final preliminary round of the Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA) Busta second division 20/20 cricket competition.
Narayan got excellent support from Delvon McEwen who counted six fours in his attractive 54 while leg-spinning all-rounder Jermaine Joseph, hit five boundaries in 32 before being caught in the deep off the last ball of the innings.
With just eight players present at a venue which in 1930, hosted the first ever Test victory by the West Indies, Third Class were never in the loop-sided match and plummeted to 62-7 innings closed in 17 overs as Joseph returned to take 2-9 for MSC who have now qualified for the Semi-finals of the competition.
