Some three thousand school children in the Bauxite Mining Town of Linden will have the opportunity of witnessing the opening day of play at the 19th Kashif and Shanghai (K&S) football tournament on December 14 at the Mackenzie Sports Club ground.
K&S Director Aubrey ‘Shanghai’ Major presented the tickets to Head of Secondary Schools in Region # 1 Jennifer Bourne recently.
This gesture is done on a yearly basis by the organisation to encourage youths to be part of the tournament.
At a recent press conference the organisation also disclosed that under-15 players attached to clubs nationwide can witness matches slated for the National Stadium, Providence on December 25 and January 1, 2009 free of cost but they must be wearing their Club’s uniform.
