The Berbice zone of the National Secondary School 40-overs under-15 Cricket Competition continued in Disricts five, six and 15.
In the latest round of matches, Jamal Henry of Tutorial Academy Secondary, who slammed 110 in his side’s massive score of 289-7 against New Amsterdam Secondary, produced an outstanding batting performance.
In response NAS was bowled out for 175 in 33 overs, to lose by 114 runs although Linden Austin top-scored with 73 in am losing cause.
Bowlers however dominated the round as evidenced by a string of low scores. Leg-spinner Junior Jackson took 6 for 12 in 4.5 overs as Manchester Secondary dismissed Black Bush Secondary for 93 in the Corentyne Central Branch District.
Nonetheless, Black Bush Secondary ran out victors by five runs thanks to medium pacers Khemraj Paltu, (4-15) and Gooran Singh (3 -10), who helped dismiss Manchester Secondary for 88.
Rosignol Secondary were restricted to 107 through good out-cricket from Fort Wellington Secondary.
Leg-spinner Dereck Narine and medium pacer Akram Rahaman took 4-14 and 3-11 respectively to rout the Fort Wellington for 33 in 10.1 overs. Scores from the matches played:
