DEAR EDITOR,
Freddie Kissoon is no doubt one of Guyana’s outstanding scholars. His writings and his utterances are always accurate.
The appointment of the new CANU head by government makes Freddie one of the best thinkers in Guyana. He said it, and it happened. The powers that be have selected a young man with absolutely no knowledge and no experience about law enforcement. Are we really serious about fighting drugs?
More than one month has passed since the new head’s appointment and nothing much has been done. One of my relatives, in a telephone conversation with me, said, “the former head did a much better job.”
I ask again, are we really serious about fighting drugs? Freddie, you were right about what the choice would be. Can someone in authority strongly advise the gentleman on the way forward, as it is evident that his lack of experience would surely impede progress in the fight against drugs in Guyana? Hats off to Freddie.
