Satro, Rebel, Blenheim record victories as Savitir slams century
Satro, Blenheim and Rebel recorded victories as the P & P Insurance Brokers 40 overs Cricket Competition commenced in Leguan recently.
On Saturday at Dennison Park, Satro defeated Falcons by 2 wickets. Falcons took first strike and made 107 all out in 22 overs with Doodnauth Dhanraj scoring 30, while Ravi Chowtie 4 – 36 and Zaheer Razack 2 – 14 did the damage with the ball for Satro who in reply made 108 – 8 in 23 overs.
Miguadad Hussain top scored with 28 while Trevor Whyte supported with 21 as Rick Stephen picked up 2 – 36 for Falcons.
At Greens Park, Rebel defeated Blenheim by 13 runs, while on Sunday Hookumchand Savitir hit and unbeaten 124 as his team Blenheim overcame Falcons by 6 wickets and Satro trashed Rebel by 135 runs.
Scores: At Greens Park Rebel 135 all out in 33 overs (Brian Roopchand 36, Sultan Alli 18, Rabindra Ojah 4 – 17. Deroop Singh 4 – 10) beat Blenheim 122 in 23 overs (Sanjeet Mahase 42, Wazir Ali 3 – 12, Brian Roopchand 3 – 15).
On Sunday at Dennison Park, Falcons 190 all out in 39 overs (Imran Yunnis 42, Mustapha Zaman 32, Hookumchand Savitir 2 – 22 , Rabindra Ojah 2 – 24) lost to Blenheim 191 for 4 in 35 overs (Hookumchand Savitir 124 no , Mustapha Zaman 3 – 29).
At White’s Park, Satro 245 all out in 35 overs (Ravi Chowtie 57, Shazaad Razack 53, Wazir Ali 2 – 38).
Rebel 110 all out in 20 overs (Ravi Chowtie 4 – 38, Zaheer Razack 4 – 28).
The competition continues today with Satro taking on Blenheim United at White’s Park and Falcons do battle with Rebel at Dennison Park.
