Dear Editor,
It is with disappointment and frustration that I write to highlight my position.
After working as a driver for approximately one month, with the contract stating that “you would be paid after the event,” I am still receiving the royal run-around. The CARIFESTA X Committee is now dissolved, the supervisor who was in charge of the drivers is no longer there, the tally sheets are now with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, at least so I am told as I keep making inquires. The last information and explanation given is that the tally sheets are, there but no authorization has been given to pay.
Could I please get some answers from the authorities?
1 – Am I, as a driver, really going to be paid?
2 – If so, could a specific time for payment be given through the media or personally? 3 – How am I, an unemployed person, expected to exist under these circumstances?
My name and all relevant information could be provided.
I would be ever grateful to hear from or have the payment made.
Concerned Driver
