A Guyanese national employed with a construction company in Cocorite has become this country’s 484th murder victim.
Terrance Caesar, 22, of Alexis Street, Morvant, was shot dead at around 9:30 p.m. on Monday.
Police said on Tuesday that they had conflicting reports regarding the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
Based on an eyewitness account, police said Caesar was coming out of a car near his home, with two other co-workers, when he was shot by armed men who approached the car.
Investigations are also continuing into the murders of Jevon Charles and Doon Suresh Lakhan, which occurred in separate incidents on Monday.
Police said Charles, of Maloney, was walking along a track leading to the Rudolph Charles Link Road in Laventille when he was shot dead by a lone gunman, at around 2:30 p.m. He died on the spot.
And Lakhan, 61, a mechanic of Jacob Hill, Wallerfield, was found chopped to death under a coconut tree a few feet from his home, at around 8 a.m. Detectives say they are yet to establish a motive for his murder.
