“I tek de money and spend it out” were the words of Adrian Duncan who pleaded guilty to simple larceny, yesterday.
The accused made his appearance before Magistrate Nashaya Williams-Hatmin, where he admitted to stealing $50,000 from Melissa Rawlins on August 23.
According to Duncan, he would normally help Rawlins “throw out garbage”. He further told the court on the day in question he saw the money between the garbage and he picked it up. Duncan said that he spent all of the money.
The prosecution said that Rawlins operates a stall at Orange Walk, Bourda, and on the day in question, Rawlins was at her stall when Duncan came to throw out the garbage.
He is to return to court for sentencing.
Also appearing before the said Magistrate was John Beckles 28, of Last Field Beterverwagting.
It is alleged that on November 11, he along with others robbed Dexter Martin of a cell phone valued $60,000 and $1000 cash. He pleaded not guilty.
