DEAR EDITOR,
I honestly believe that when a product becomes a household name, it results from serious marketing strategies and planning.
The Guyana Annual, which is the new name for The Christmas Annual, is one piece of literature which is of good reading; and I believe that all households should have an annual copy at their disposal, but the planning committee needs to pump up its marketing plans.
My marketing suggestion is to have some popular local celebrities endorse the book, e.g. Adrian Dutchin, Big Red, Sarwan, Henry Rodney, Habeeb Khan etc.
Use commercial spots on television for promotion, especially from much anticipated broadcast shows like the upcoming “CBS Victoria Secret Fashion Show on December 3, 2008.”
If you haven’t, re-establish your presence during the early stages of the day, during the annual Main Street Lime.
Collaborate with either Digicel or GT&T, and this will definitely portray their support in education.
