Play in the Bakewell sponsored Muslim Youth Organisation (MYO) Inter Jamaat 15 overs cricket competition will continue on Sunday at two venues with a total of six matches carded.
At the MYO ground from 09:00hrs, New Mosque play MYO, at 11:00hrs, Peter’s Hall oppose LBI. Kitty will play back to back at 13:00 and 15:00hrs against Mocha Arcadia and LBI.
Over at the National Park, Wales will also play back to back matches, first against Grove at 09:00hrs and from 11:00 they oppose Cornelia Ida. The other match up at this venue brings together Grove and Lusignan.
In latest results, Farm B defeated New Mosque by 18 runs. Scores: Farm B 177-3 off their allotted overs with Shoaib Mohamed slamming an unbeaten 65 and Mark Khan 31.
Altaf Samaroo and Imran Baksh took one wicket apiece for New Mosque who were bowled out for 159. Marlon Rodrigues top scored with 33 and Abu Bakr 19. The main destroyer with the ball for Farm B was Intikab Mohamed with 4. He got good support from Rayaz Khan (3) and Mark Khan who took 2.
And Triumph defeated Diamond New Scheme by a massive 154 runs.
Triumph took first strike and rattled up a commanding 238-6 with Shazim Mohamed falling short of a century by 5 runs. Trevor Baksh supported with 30 but extra’s was the second best scorer with 40.
In reply, Diamond New Scheme were sent packing for 84, Faizul Khan the only player to reach double figures with 18. For Triumph, Aslam Khan and Ajay Khan grabbed 3 wickets each while Trevor Baksh and Azim Mohamed accounted for 2 each.
Grove won both their matches via the walk over route, Cornelia Ida and Success failing to show up. Winning similarly was Peter’s Hall over Mocha Arcadia.
