Entries are expected to close on Sunday November 16 for the Grand Horserace meet fixed for Sunday November 23 at the Anjue and Hamlet Park’s race track at Mahaicony, East Coast Demerara.
Eight races are listed on the day’s programme which has some $2.5Million in cash and trophies up for grabs.
There are four feature events listed on the day’s programme. The main event will be for horses classified C and lower which has a first prize of $300,000 and will be run over a distance of 1600m.
The F and lower 1200m sprint has $150,000 available for the winner, while the Two year old maiden 1000m gallop also has a $150,000 prize purse up for the taking.
The G and lower 1200m sprint with a first prize of $140,000 is the other main event that will be contested on the day’s programme.
Other races on the card are for horses classified for H and lower. J and K and lower, L class grade 1 and the L class grade 2.
A number of top horses have already taken entry including the three American bred horses’ in Annie’s Playmate, Irish Gel and Mr. Wheelie Wheel.
