Buxton United created history on Sunday when they became the Mackeson Senior League Football Champions following their 1-1 draw with former Champs, BV Triumph United at the BV ground.
The young Buxton side with an average age of 18 took the championship in their first season in the senior league, a historical feat.
Leading goal scorer and multi-talented athlete Clive Andries ended the league with 7 goals.
Andries, who is also a junior national cricketer, made an immediate impact in the senior ranks as his record shows.
BV had taken the lead after 12 minutes of play through a Shawn Daniels effort but Buxton United struck back a mere one minute later through a Michael Phyll goal.
The lone remaining game of the East Demerara Football Association senior season between Bakewell Buxton Stars and Plaisance on Sunday will not alter the points standings in any real way.
Tremaine Richmond ended with six goals Neville Gulliver, Shawn Daniels, Kwesi Healy, and Gavin Adams 4 each.
