Platinum Inc. Hotel and Service Station of Bartica threw tangible support behind the I Movement Promotion Bartica Super Eight Football Championship at the Bartica Community Centre ground starting November 19.

The major sponsors recently presented a cheque for $500,000 to Promoter I Salam, which represents prize money for the event. Miffelle Joris of Platinum Hotel recently handed over the cheque to the promoter.
The tournament features eight teams split into two groups with the early stages being a round robin format then the top sides progress to the knockout phase to determine the teams clashing in the final.
The teams participating are Royo Classic, Pure Diamond Kings, Mighty Ruler, Indio Mining, I Movement Eagles, Platinum Gulley Side Warriors, Brazmine Diamond and Shawn Autobody Workshop.
I Salam indicated he intends to make the tournament a memorable one with the help of the level of competition from the teams and continued support form the sponsors and also to stage it annually.
Several other entities have lent their support to the staging of the event; among them are the Regional Administration, Banks DIH, Double Platinum Service Station, Classic Boutique, Pure Diamond Inc., Shawn Autobody Works, Modern Hotel, Giovanni’s Restaurant, Dinos Investment, Kenneth Williams, Trinity Document Centre, Morocco Restaurant, Atkinson Trading and Bice Taxi Service.
