Etheridge House athlete Hilton Moore erased two records from the books in the field events at the St. Stanislaus College Inter-House Athletics Championships which started yesterday, at the YMCA ground.
Moore set new records in the Shot Put and Discus events for Open Boys, while Wrenica Stanford of Butler House, Imtiaz Muass, Nkeshi Vaughn and L. Wilson also established new marks in their respective events.
Moore threw the Discus 100’ 5″ to eclipse his old mark of 92’ 2″ and then set a new distance in the Shot Put with a throw of 40’ 6″ which removed the previous mark of 34’ 4.5″ established by Terrence George.
Stanford competing in the Girls Under-16 Javelin set a fresh mark of 69’ to rub out the 52’ 8.5″ she set previously.
Vaughn of Weld House then captured the Girls U-14 Long Jump with a leap of 13’ 6″ which bettered Nikita Cromwell’s 12’ 8.5″ and Muass then soared to 15’3″ to erase the old mark of 15’ which was established by N. Gordon in the Boys U-14 Long Jump.
Wilson grabbed the Boys U-16 Javelin title with a record hurl of 121’ 3.5″. The track events are set for today, at the GCC ground, Bourda and Butler House is the defending champion.
Starting time is 09:30 hrs.
