Noitgedacht defeated Good Success by 7 wickets to emerge champions of the Guyana Cricket Board round robin U-19 cricket competition which continued in Wakenaam last Saturday with two matches.
Played at the Noitgedacht ground, the home team won the toss and asked Good Success to bat first on a pitch which preparation moisture. Middle order batsman Alex Hill (20) was the only batsman to reach double figures as the visitors were routed for 64 in 20 overs.
Shemroy Hartman, Roopnarine Singh and Rahaman Khan took tow wickets each for the host who hit off the required runs in 10 overs ending on 65 for 3.
Howard Mc Phoy top scored with 29 while Terrence Oliver contributed 19. Moin Khan grabbed 2 – 20 for Good Success.
In the other match played at Sans Souci, the host went down to Zeelandia by 32 runs. Zeelandia batted first and made 227 all out in 28 overs. Rabindranauth Jadukul scored 59 while Ricardo Adams made 58 and Timothy Singh 19.
Offspinner Nokta Moses captured 4 – 32 and Seon Venture 3 – 23 for the host who in reply made 195 all out in 26 overs.
Eon Osborne top scored with 39 while Naresh Hiraman (25), Seon Venture (25) Keon Frazer (20), Zameer Aman (18) and Tulsie Ram (18) got good starts but did not carry on.
Ricardo Adams returned with the ball to take 5 – 57 while Timothy Singh collected 3 – 29 and Leorayon Ramlakhan took 2 – 29 for the winners.
Noitgedacht with three wins from three games top the points table followed by Zeelandia with two wins, Sans Souci one and Good Success nil. (Zaheer Mohamed)
