Barbadian Stuart Maloney destroyed all and sundry as he won two of three races to end on 54 points and cart off the champion driver in the Caribbean Series yesterday at the South Dakota Circuit.
Maloney, who started the day on 30 points five behind his father Doug, was in irrepressible form as he stormed to victory in the first two races, before placing fifth in the final race of the day.
Occupying the runner-up spot was Jamaican David Summerbell, who chased Maloney all day long to finish on 50 points after registering a first, second and third places, while Doug Maloney, who led the standings at the start of the day closed on a disappointing 44 points.
The lone Guyanese who was in with a chance of challenging the top three Andrew King failed to impress and added a mere three points to his pre-Meet position in the points column, ending on 26 points.
Jamaica finished at the top of the table for countries with a total of 137 points and they were followed by Barbados on 124 and Guyana in the cellar on 46.
Other top performers included Ryan Rahaman and Canadian Kevin Graham both of whom dominated their categories. See full details of yesterday’s action in Tuesday’s edition.
