A collision involving a minibus and a motor car sent six persons to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) yesterday.
The occupants of the minibus all suffered minor injuries, but the passengers of the car were not as fortunate. They suffered lacerations to their hands and faces, and were admitted to the GPHC.
The others were treated for their injuries and sent away.
The road accident, which occurred at approximately 15:30 hrs yesterday afternoon, was said to have happened after the motor car sped across Smyth Street, failing to stop at the intersection of D’Urban Street. Among the injured were Marlon Carter of Hadfield Street, Abena Sherwin of Louisa Row, Shawn Schewiers of Bent Street, Delon Caesar of Lodge, Shanika Hyderkhan of Princes Street, and Kenisha Inniss of Hadfield Street.
This mishap, said some of the passengers of the bus, resulted from speeding and failure to comply with the laws of the road.
“Is speed mek dis happen!” said one of the parents of the injured.
