Veteran journalist George Barclay got the shock of his life yesterday when he came out of the High Court to discover that someone had made off with his cherished red Toyota Corolla.
Mr. Barclay said that he parked his vehicle, PBB 2152, just outside the High Court, at around 10:00 hrs, before entering the premises to cover a murder trial.
At around 11:00 hrs, Mr. Barclay exited the building and went to where he had parked his car, only to discover that it was gone.
According to the veteran journalist, a policeman informed him that he (the policeman) had observed someone sitting in the car, “with one foot outside while reading a newspaper.”
The policeman said that the man in Barclay’s car did nothing to arouse the policeman’s suspicions.
Mr. Barclay revealed that the vehicle has been in his possession for 12 years. He is appealing to anyone with information about its whereabouts to contact the police.
