Zeelandia and Noitgedacht recorded second round victories as the Guyana Cricket Board U-19 40 overs cricket competition continued last Saturday in Wakenaam.
At Zeelandia, the host defeated Good Success by eight wickets. The visitors batted first and made 104 all out in 20 overs.
Ian Andrew (13), Alex Hill (10) were the only batsmen reaching double figures while extras contributed a healthy 30.
Left arm spinner Ricardo Adams captured 4 – 11 off 5 overs and Timothy Singh 2 – 25 from 4 overs for Zeelandia who hit off the required runs in 18 overs ending on 105 – 2.
Adams returned with the bat to top scored with 53 n.o while Hemnauth Seeraj ended unbeaten on 14.
Medium pacer Youganand Balgobin took 2 – 22 for Good Success.
And at Sans Souci the home team went down to Noitgedacht by 10 wickets. Sans Souci took first strike and made 93 all out in 16 overs. Nokta Moses was their leading run getter with 18 as Roopnarine Singh captured 5 – 20.
Noitgedacht then blazed to victory in just 10 overs with Rahaman Khan getting 57 and Singh 18. The competition continues today with Zeelandia facing Sans Souci at Sans Souci and Noitgedacht hosting Good Success. (Zaheer Mohamed)
