Latchman (4-15 & 92*), Ramsarran (6- 24) destroy Number 70 Young Blood
The New Building Society Challenge Second Division 40-Over Berbice Cricket Competition which involves over 100 teams in the Ancient County continued last Saturday.
Fifteen-year-old Number 73 Young Warriors pacer Trishan Ramsarran took 6-24 from 6.4 overs and got support from off-spinner Lakeram Latchman restricted Number 70 Young Blood to 171 all out in 34.4 overs despite 58 from Mark Lionel.
Latchman then opened the batting for the Warriors and scored an unbeaten 92 with 12 fours and two sixes to steer them to 172-4 in 30 overs.
Another good all-round performance came from Deoprakesk Ramdat who scored 72 with 10 fours saw Number 71 to 294 in 34 overs against Number 65 Original as extras contributed a whopping 71 runs.
Ramdat returned with his off-spin to take 3-3 to support Manaouram Vincent who took 5-6, as Number 65 were skittled out for 34.
Seventy five from Kishan Seelall and 58 from Jaipersaud Rawana helped Tain to 261-7 off 35 overs against Bloomfield who could only muster 70 in reply as off-spinner Ravindra Harrypersaud took 5-23.
After Rising Star off-spinner Rohiat Ghamandi took 5-15 to dismiss Silver Star for 105, opening batsman Naresh Persaud slammed a quick fire 81 not out, which included 10 fours and three sixes to guide Rising Star to 108-1 in 14.3 overs.
Leg-spinner Kumar Gopaul of Crabwood Creek took 6-32 to spearhead the dismissal of Unity for 91. His team mate Laikram Seegobin scored an undefeated 58 with five fours and five sixes to guide their team to a seven-wicket victory.
Number 70’s Lalman’s medium pacer Parasram Chaitram to 6-11 to bowl his team to a 105 run victory over Nnumber 70 M.Y.O.
Guyana Under-17 selectee Harrinarine Chattergoon of Albion Community Centre returned to form with an even half-century in a losing effort against Rose Hall Town after struggling with the bat since the under-17 inter county competition. Neville Williams of Skeldon Community Centre, Rayon Yacoob of Number. 70 Lalman and Kumar Roopchand of Number 65 ‘A’ also scored fifties in last Saturday’s action.

At Dispensary Dam in Port Mourant, Rising Star beat Silver Star by 9 wickets. Silver Star 105 in 21 Overs with Rohit Ghamandi 5 for 16. Rising Star 108 for 1 in 14.3 overs with Naresh Persaud 81 N.O.
At Skeldon Line Path, Crabwood Creek beat Unity by 7 wickets. Unity 91 in 20.5 Overs with Kumar Gopaul 6 for 32, Javid Karmodeen 3 for 24. Crabwood Creek 92 for 3 in 14.5 Overs with Laikram Seegobin 58 N.O.
