Forty-six-year-old Oscar Henry of Goed Fortuin Housing Scheme, West Coast Demerara, narrowly escaped serious injury when he became involved in a road accident last night.
According to reports, around 19:30 hours Henry was walking east along the Vreed-en-Hoop Public Road when he was struck down by a motorcycle that was hit by a passing motorcar. Henry sustained a wound to his head and several abrasions about his body.
And instead of stopping to render assistance the driver of the motorcar sped away leaving a wounded Henry sprawled in the corner of the road and a badly shaken motorcyclist.
Police arrived on the scene shortly after and a passing motorist transported the injured man to the West Demerara Regional Hospital where he was treated and kept for observation. But Henry insisted that he was physically okay and would prefer to be taken home.
