Lands and Surveys Commission –sponsored student is new lawyer

Dylon Andray Bess was admitted to the Guyana Bar this week. His petition for admission to practise law before the Courts of Guyana was presented by Gerald Broomes, Attorney-at-Law, and former Commissioner of Title and Judge of the Land Court, before Chief Justice (ag) Ian Chang.
Addressing the Court, Bess promised, inter alia, to be a helper in the administration of justice and to show respect to the court at all times.
He acknowledged that he owed duties to his clients and in that regard he promised to put their best interest first and to represent them honestly, competently and zealously.
After completing his primary and secondary education, Bess started his university education at the University of Guyana (UG), where he graduated with a Bachelor of Laws Degree, in 2003, and graduated within the top eight per cent of his class.
After this, he worked as the Senior Conveyance Officer within the Ministry of Housing and Water and then Corporate Secretary /Legal Officer with the Guyana Land and Surveys Commission.
After some years of service to the Commission, Bess was awarded a scholarship by the Lands and Surveys Commission, to read for his Legal Education Certificate. He attended the Hugh Wooding Law School where he graduated with Honours.
