Softball cricket fans from the East Coast will have the privilege of witnessing Guyana’s most popular softball team, the Floodlights A and B, who will be in action tomorrow at the Enmore cricket ground when they take on two teams from Enmore in two 25 overs softball matches.
These games are being played as a fundraiser for the Enmore Cricket Club and are sponsored by Trans Pacific Motor Spares, Metro, Chris Auto Sales and R. Ramlagan General Store as the Floodlights teams continue their charitable work.
Admission at the gate is $100 and lots of refreshments and eats will be on sale along with musical accompaniment. The first match starts at 10:00am and Brandon Chanderpaul son of Shivnarine Chanderpaul will be making his debut for Enmore.
Former Guyana player Sheik Mohamed will be turning out for the Enmore B unit, while Ricky Deonarain, who has been doing a good job with the bat recently will represent Floodlights B. Two keenly contested matches are anticipated.
The Enmore A Squad will come from: Rasheed Gafoor (Captain), Imran Ali, Nasib Mohamed, Hasib Mohamed, Harry Nauth, Shariff Hassan, M. Persaud, Wasir Majeed, Ganesh Diaram, Sunil Jailall, Chandi Persaud, Rishi Duboy, Waquar Hatim, D. Singh, Brandon Chanderpaul and Jesus Fernandes.
Floodlights A Squad will have: Reaz Hussain (captain), Fidel Singh, Mike Singh, Mark Harold, Rajin Mohamed, Dindial Lakhan, Mark Fung, Randy Ketwaroo, Ravi Ramnauth, Anand Rooplall, Ramesh Ramsaroop, Rajesh Singh, Richard Haniff, Patrick Khan and Rupie Shewjattan.
