Bandits made off with a whopping $3M from a woman who had just emerged from a city bank, yesterday morning.
Michelle Sam, of West Ruimveldt, was relieved of the cash and jewellery by two armed bandits who also made off with the keys to her car. The incident occurred at about 10:30 hours.
According to the police, Sam went to two city banks and withdrew a total of $2.5M, which she placed in a bag on the back seat of her motor vehicle.
She then went to another bank and withdrew a further $500,000 after leaving the rest of the money in the vehicle.
As she was approaching her car, Sam was confronted by the two armed men who held her up and took away all the cash, her jewellery and car keys and escaped. The matter was reported to the police but no arrest has been made so far.
