Another taxi driver was taken for a ride in his car trunk by bandits who subsequently dumped him and stole his vehicle.
Dwayne Hall was relieved of his silver grey Toyota Carina AT 192, PJJ 4736, four cellular phones and $4,500 by three men who had hired him Tuesday night.
According to the police, at around 23:00 hours, Hall picked up the men in North Ruimveldt to go to Craig, East Bank Demerara.
On the way to the destination at Busbee Dam, one of the men who was armed with a gun held it to Hall’s head and forced him to stop the car.
The driver was placed into the trunk, while the perpetrators drove away with the vehicle.
However, Hall managed to escape out of the vehicle in the vicinity of Friendship and subsequently reported the matter to the police.
Up to press time the car was not recovered, nor were any of the perpetrators arrested.
