The Fruta Conquerors Football Club located in Tucville will soon be moving into their brand new club house.

According to Club President Marlon Cole, this is more or less the second phase of the project since the foundation was there since 2004.
Cole disclosed that UNICEF and the Guyana Micro Project have been instrumental in making the project a reality.
“We are very grateful to these two entities among others for coming on board with this project which would see the wome of the Tucville community playing a major role in the lives and development of the youths.”
Under the Guyana Micro Project, the women of the community will be utalising their skills by sewing and manufacturing uniforms at the Factory centre.
The facility will also house two dressing rooms, club office, training hall and bar. UNICEF, Cole said will be providing materials for the construction of the building.
“This facility will also provide the means for us to be involved in training our young people in conflict resolution and many other life skills and we are very happy about this.”
A number of other have also come on board by donating other items like paint and Cole said that the donation door is still opened.
It is estimated that the final cost will be in excess of 4 million dollars. The Fruta Conquerors ground has replaced the Georgetown Football Club ground as the Mecca of football in the city.
