DEAR EDITOR,
I grinned when I read the caption of Frederick Kissoon in his column on 26-09-08, “Adolf Hitler’s ethics”.
We’ve read Mr. Kissoon’s repeated rhetoric on how monstrous was Burnham and how equally terrible was Jagan. One wonders, however, what all this grandiloquent comes to when one examines the author of the rhetoric.
I smiled because I believe it might be a case of transposed Freudianism when Mr. Kissoon chose the caption. After all the constant vitriolic on Burnham and Jagan and their open and closeted disciples, I am convinced that the rhetor (Mr. Kissoon) would have been worse than both Burnham and Jagan, if he were in their place.
Why? He would have been an Adolf Hitler as his Hitlerite propensities have been clearly exhibited.
Hitler, like Mr. Kissoon, was no fool. He was brilliant and accomplished some ‘good’ deeds for the German nation and people. Who can argue that Mr. Kissoon has not contributed to the good of Guyana?
The man has done and said lots to make Guyana a better place. In spite of this, Mr. Kissoon has assumed Hitler-like ethics in his daily uttering.
If one acknowledges any good of any aspect of the Guyana Government, that means one is a PPP crony, according to Mr. Kissoon.
And so the likes of Harry Hergash, Rickey Singh and David Dabydeen are more than just “avid PPP supporters”; they are an anathema to the good of Guyana, according to Mr. Kissoon. Similarly, if one disagrees with the philosophy of Mr. Kissoon, one is deemed a nobody or a jumbie writer.
Can you believe what this do-gooder preacher did (who does not hesitate to cuss down those he does not like)? Looking foolish after his gaffe about what a jumbie writer Errol Arthur was, the writer refuses to apologise to his readers for his blunder and misconception. He will not apologise because he “did not know” Errol Arthur existed.
I think that this is the most “bare faced” (to borrow his term) public person this nation has known. After that statement about his cognition of Errol Arthur, readers have a better perception of who this commentator of “what is morally right and what is morally wrong” is, and his Hitlerite ethics.
When one consistently argues against Mr. Kissoon’s stances, he eventually and nonchalantly deems that person as one who lacks credibility.
Well, after the Errol Arthur gaffe, Mr. Kissoon’s credibility comes into play. His overbearing cussing down of those who are not in congruence with his views has come to haunt him.
Like the greedy wealth hoarders of Wall Street who have become their own enemy and are suffering from a ‘credit crunch’, Mr. Kissoon is suffering from a credibility crunch.
Hitler liquidated those who did not subscribe to his idea of the ideal.
Sounds familiar?
