National under-17 selectee Andrew Stoll grabbed 4-23 and then smashed a savage 86 to spearhead GYO to a two-wicket victory against Malteenoes Sports Club (MSC) at GYO yesterday as the Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA) De Sinco 40-overs under-19 cricket competition continued in the Capitol.
The left-handed Stoll got support from fellow Guyana under-17 selectee Ricardo Devers who took 3-39 with his off-spin as MSC fell for 168 in 29 overs and then returned with a brutal batting assault; hitting seven sixes and nine fours as GYO reached 170-8 in 30 overs.
Vishal Narayan top scored with a solid 30 before he was leg before to an arm ball from Devers while Jonathan Alphonso (18), Shaquille Williams (15) and Kefia Naughton (13) were the other batsmen to reach double figures for MSC who benefited from 50 extras.
Alex Ramalho smashed six fours in a cameo 26 at the top of the order for GYO before he threw his wicket away when well set after adding 39 for the first wicket with the left-handed Brandon Chanderpaul (11), the son of 2008 ICC’s Cricketer of the Year Shivnarine Chanderpaul.
