Former East Demerara powerhouses Victoria Kings was the only team to take full points when action in the Mackeson / East Demerara senior league continued on Thursday evening at the Plasiance Community Centre ground.
The Kings defeated Golden Stars 2-1 while in the other game, defending division one champs B.V Triumph United were held to another draw this time by Ann’s Grove, 1-1.
Victoria Kings took the early lead against Golden Stars in the 6th minute with an Orin Elias goal with the advantage being doubled 11 minutes later by teammate Andrew Holder.
The Stars pulled one back in the 35th minute when Akin Cameron found the back of the nets. No other goals materialised as the opposing defenders held strong.
B.V had to come from behind yet again, Delroy Deen saving the day for them 5 minutes before full time after Ann’s Grove had nosed ahead in the 57th through Gavin Adams’ effort. Competition is set to continue tomorrow with two more matches at the B.V ground.
Black Stallion match skills with Mahaica in the opening game from 14:00hrs with the main attraction between Bakewell Buxton Stars and fellow village side Buxton United.
