A Kwakwani resident was killed early yesterday morning after a truck in which he was travelling overturned on the Mabura Road.
The victim, who was still unidentified at press time, reportedly perished after being pinned under the vehicle.
According to reports, Grant Lovell, the driver, was reportedly transporting fuel to Mabura when he lost control of the vehicle, which toppled several times while going down-hill.
Lovell managed to escape unhurt, but his unidentified passenger was pinned underneath the truck and died on the spot.
The truck, owned by Michael Bacchus, of Silver Town Wismar, Linden, was extensively damaged.
The driver has since been detained.
