The 2008 champions of Network Deliverance Ministry Inter Church Futsal
Championship will be crowned on Saturday evening at the National Gymnasium.
And going for back to back titles are defending champion Heavenly Light ‘A’ who were easy 5-2 winners over Beacon B in booking their semi-final date with Love and Faith who were 3-1 victors over Tucville Assembly of God when the quarter-finals were contested Saturday last.
The other semi-final will see Heavenly Light B, who hammered Harvest Time 8-1, matching skills with Elim B, slim 3-2 victors over Elim B.
The defending champions were led to their win compliments of a hat-trick by Dellon Williams and one each from Jolyon Harry and Paul Bobb. Beacon B responded through efforts from Osmond John and Akeem Houston.
Stellon David’s double led Heavenly Light B to their comprehensive win over Harvest Time. Zafanauth Peters, Sherwin Anderson, Julian Knight, Anthony Carto, Fecker John and Cloyd Bascom all added one apiece.
Scoring for Love and Faith who overcame Tucville AOG were Onassis Dillon (2) and John Harrison the other.
Tucville’s consolation came off the boot of Junior Weatherspoon. And Elim B owe their close (3-2) win against the A team to goals by Phillip Rowley, Junior Carter and Cordell Tudor. Chris Collymore and Sherwin Arthur and were the players on target for the losing A side.
Meanwhile, in matches that were rescheduled to last Saturday from September 20, Tucville AOG rewrote the record books when they inflicted an 11-0 thrashing on Jesus Deliverance Mission International.
Leading the goal party was Junior Weatherspoon who blasted the nets six times, Jasper Benfield score twice while there was one each for Odel Williams, Kurt Sunich and Darren Gilkes.
In the other rescheduled games, Beacon Ministries ‘A’ lost to Harvest Time 1-3, Heavenly Light B edged World Vision by the odd goal in five, Beacon B thumped Network Ministry 4-2 and Elim outplayed Fountain of Life 3-1.
