Allahu Akbar Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akhbar, La illa ha illah la, Allahu Akbar Allahu Akbar, Wal lil ah lil Hamd.
Allah is the Greatest! Allah is the Greatest and there is no God but Allah
Allah is the Greatest! Allah is the Greatest and to Him belongs all Praise.
My dear brothers and sisters – I greet you with the universal greetings of Islam. Assalam-O-Alaikum. May the peace mercy and blessing of Allah be with you all.
On this Holy and Auspicious occasion, the end of the Holy month of Ramadan, I would like on behalf of myself, family and the Central Islamic Organisation of Guyana to wish all Guyanese and especially our muslim brothers and sisters Eid Mubarak!! Eid Mubarak!! Eid Mubarak!!
Today the day of Eid-Ul-Fitr, we join with over 1.5 billion Muslims worldwide to congratulate each other with greetings of Eid Mubarak. Today, we are happy that we have obeyed the command of our Creator, Sustainer and Cherisher – Allah – who has no partners, no associates, no sons or daughters, He is Allah, the one true God. Today, the day of Eid, we turn to Him, giving praises to Him and thanking Him for being alive to witness Ramadan and to serve Him and be one of His obedient servants. Today we know that He – Allah will bless us and our families with all the rewards He has promised us.
On this day of Eid, let us remember the poor and needy in our country; let us pray for those who are sick in our country, those who need our love, care and attention. Let us as we celebrate Eid reach out to the less fortunate in the Society and do our best to help them. On this day of Eid, let us reflect on the role we can play in the ongoing struggle to reduce poverty in our country.
The Holy month of Ramadan was a training ground to reawaken us – physically, morally and spiritually. This training is necessary in order to us to continue to play a role in the development of our family, our community and country. We need to work with our Guyanese brothers and sisters of all religions, races and cultures to make Guyana a better place for our future generations. We must educate ourselves and take a positive role in promoting peaceful relations among all Guyanese.
On this day of Eid, let us redouble our efforts to encourage and motivate young brothers and sisters to become leaders in every field of human endeavor, in every field of knowledge. Let us pledge today to join the fight to wipe out illiteracy in our nation.
Our beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said that we should seek knowledge from the cradle to the grave. He also said that knowledge is the lost property of the Muslims; where ever he or she finds it they should take benefit from it. Let us encourage our community to explore all avenues to become better educated. Education is the key in the eradication ignorance and poverty.
On this day of Eid, let us reflect on the area of Nation building of this our dear land of Guyana. We all have to make a commitment to become actively involved in the development process. Great responsibilities have come to us and equally great should be our determination and commitment to discharge them.
Brothers and sisters, fellow Guyanese, in order to achieve success here and in the hereafter, we need to turn to the Creator and Sustainer of the Universe and beg Him to bless us with success. If we are true in our belief and practice of our faith and we turn to Him sincerely we will always be successful in our endeavors.
On this day of Eid, let us pray to Allah to help us and guide us to achieve our objectives so that we can have a peaceful, united and blessed Guyana.
EID MUBURAK TO YOU ALL.

Allahu Akbar kabira. Wal hamdu lillahi kathira. Wa subhanallahi bukratan wa asila.
Allah is Great, immensely so! And praise be to Allah, abundantly! And glory be to Allah, both early and late.
Eid-ul-Fitr marks the end of a month of fasting and sacrifice. It is an occasion for rejoicing and an opportunity for Muslims to gather in joy, as well as in remembrance of those less fortunate. It is a Day of Graduation for all those who have faithfully observed the commands of God Almighty and an opportunity for all of us to rededicate ourselves, not only to achieving spiritual growth, but also to the cause of peace between all people of the earth. Our challenge now becomes one of finding ways to maintain our focus. As the appearance of the new moon brings to a close, the holy month of Ramadan, we extend to all our Muslims a blessed celebration of the Eid Al-Fitr and peace, health, and prosperity in the year ahead. May peace be with you and your families.
Eid finds us more content and happy with ourselves. We have reawakened our faith. We stand at a crossroad today: how shall we continue this journey toward Islam? How shall we remain at peace? The habits that we have established during this month must be nurtured. As we return toward our roles in this society, the world in which we live faces us with difficult choices. Our guidance comes from our willingness to turn toward Allah and to find peace within ourselves. Then and only then, will we feel content in our choices.
Our global society could and should be an example of co-existence and cooperation, of mutual benefit and human concern. Muslims need to create an inner environment of peace and faith, of tranquility, non-violence, and security. Then we can hope to find solidarity and to create cooperation by supporting one another, standing by one another in what is good and right and needed for success, growth, and sustainability.
We are to let everyone know the true basis of Islam, its real values, its true principles, its way of life based on pluralism, democratic principles, faith, and mutual respect. Muslims today represent an increasingly important element in the tapestry of human society. Because of the growth of Islam, people of all faiths are coming to appreciate the significance of these great Islamic Festivals and Observances. Muslims the world over, are also united in their commitment to being an integral part of the human family and building a society, rich in diversity and grounded in mutual respect. The world is made stronger by the core values of Islam — commitment to family, compassion for the disadvantaged, and tolerance for other human beings and groups. We must not allow anyone, within or without of us, to destroy that. Islam espouses peace and security and safety for all people regardless of nationality or religion or gender or race.
It is our sincere hope and prayer that we are able to affirm the unity possible among Muslims, and between Muslims and other religions. We face the challenges of living in a globalized world where there is greater alienation and distance between classes of individuals based on economics and education. We must work hand in hand with people who have faith in the essential goodness of humankind. The ethical, social, economic, political and spiritual challenges before us are enormous and demand mature, sincere, tolerant, open-minded “good people” to meet the growing challenges. We extend to all Muslims a blessed celebration of the Eid Al-Fitr and peace, health, and prosperity in the year ahead. May peace be with you and your families.

(Allah is Great, Allah is Great, and there is no God save Him. Allah is Great, Allah is Great, and all praises are for Him)
Today is Eid ul Fitr, the greatest festival of Muslims, being observed by over one billion people worldwide. Every nation has its celebration, and today is our celebration. It is the celebration, which marks the end of a month of fasting and sacrifice. It is an occasion for rejoicing and an opportunity for Muslims to gather in joy, as well as in remembrance of those less fortunate. It is a Day of graduation for all those who have faithfully observed the commands of God Almighty. It is also an opportunity for all of us to rededicate ourselves, not only to achieving spiritual growth, but also to the cause of peace between all people of the earth. Today, the responsibility is on us as Muslims, to erase the negative stereotype created about Muslims. No Muslim is a weapon of mass destruction! It is our common challenge and our shared responsibility to create a better world for ourselves and our children.
Fasting is a trial of physical endurance and also a way of developing empathy for the poor and destitute. It is a bridge by which Muslims can reach out to the needy in all communities. Muslims today represent an increasingly important element in the tapestry of human society. Civilization was made stronger by the core values of Islam, we must not allow anyone, within or without of us, to destroy that.
Muslims the world over, are also united in their commitment to being an integral part of the human family and building a society rich in diversity and grounded in mutual respect. The world is made stronger by the core values of Islam — commitment to family, compassion for the dis-advantaged, and tolerance for other human beings and groups.
As the appearance of the new moon brings to a close, the holy month of Ramadan, we all pray that it will usher in a year of reconciliation and peace. We extend to all our Muslims a blessed celebration of the Eid Al-Fitr and peace, health, and prosperity in the year ahead. May peace be with you and your families.

EID MUBARAK! EID MUBARAK! EID MUBARAK!
It is my pleasure on behalf of the Guyana Alunadiyya Anjuman Isha’at-I-Islam to extend to you and your families Eid Mubarak.
This glorious day has brought to an end our various sacrifices in the pursuit of increasing our spiritual values, not only by abstaining from food and drink but also from all other temptations that may lead us to the path of unrighteousness.
One of the greatest achievements of Man is to reach out to the Creator of the Worlds, and this was done with the utmost humility not in one or two weeks but in one lunar month when we remember Almighty Allah at all times. Ramadhan provides us with the opportunity to exercise this blissful command which was given to all the chosen prophets, the last of whom was Muhammad (May the Peace and Blessings of Allah be with Him) It leaves an indelible mark on our souls and is a friend to all the righteous servants
At this time of the year, the angels descend upon the hearts of the believers by the command of Almighty Allah, and the charitable nature of those who keep the Fast becomes evident through the distribution of Zakaat, which is compulsory for those who can afford it. This is a universal lesson to teach Mankind that we are children of Allah and that it is our duty to seek out and help those who are in need. Ramadhan lays the foundation for a social commitment and reminds us of our duty to the communities in which we live. The Holy Quran could not express it in a more practical way when it states that “Mankind is a single nation”.
The spiritual upliftment of Mankind is one of the main goals of Islam, and Ramadhan through fasting and prayers brings us closer to this high ideal, which can be achieved when it is exercised in the manner which was laid down so many centuries ago.
The injunction laid down in the Holy Quran relating to Fasting in the month of Ramadhan was particularly chosen because it was the month when the Holy Quran was revealed. It was in this month when the first ray of Divine light fell on the Prophet’s mind and the angel Gabriel made his appearance with the great Divine message.
The light of Ramadhan brings people from all parts of the world to observe its presence and to adjust the course of their lives when they witness the tiny crescent on the western horizon.
As we now move on with the farewell to this blessed month, we can look back to the pleasant memories of prayers and fasting with joy in our hearts, and praises to the Almighty Creator of all the worlds that we witnessed another Ramadhan, another “Lailat al Qadr”.
May the peace and blessings of Almighty Allah be with us on this Eid-ul-Fitr and always. Eid Mubarak!
