Thirty-five year-old former Guyana and West Indies ‘B’ team wicket keeper Kenneth Wong smashed a belligerent 75, while teenage off-spinner Daniel Greavesande grabbed 5-25 to help Malteenoes Sports Club (MSC) arrest Police by 69 runs in their second round Pepsi first division 40-overs cricket encounter at the MSC ground yesterday.
Wong, who played 23 first-class games between 1993 and 1998, retuned to local cricket after returning home from the USA this year and clobbered five fours and four gigantic sixes in his innings as MSC made 173-7 off their allotted 40 overs.
Forty-two year-old Neil Barry, who played nine first-class matches for Guyana between 1988 and 1996, supported with 26 as Michael Cummings took 2-23 for the cops.
The Lawmen were then dismissed for 116- in 28 overs as Greavesande bagged 5-25 from seven overs and got support from left-arm spinner Damien Vantull (2-7) and former Guyana under-19 pacer Kwasie Nedd (2-24).
Jason Heyliger top scored with 31 while Rawle Browne made 23 in a losing effort for the Cops.
