Play in the AL Sport & Tour Promotions / Ministry of Culture, Youth & Sport (MCYS) / National Sports Commission (NSC) sponsored Inter-Secondary Schools Male Windball Cricket Tournament continued last Friday, at the National Gymnasium.
In results of the matches played: Lodge High defeated Monar Educational Institute by 43 runs.
Taking first strike, Lodge compiled 171-1 off the allotted 8 overs with Cordell Mars 81 and Stephen Sampson 62 not out, being the principal scorers.
Monar Educational Institute in reply was restricted to128-4. Selwyn Williams made 54, while Donryck Rodney supported with 47. Mars returned to capture 2 wickets.
David Rose High succumbed to Goed Fortuin by four wickets. Batting first, David Rose reached 118-5 with Akeem Williams stroking 70. Toney Smith and Andre Bernard each picked up 2 wickets.
Goed Fortuin Sec replied with 122-3. Damion Major top-scored with 55.
Play continues tomorrow from 15:00hrs.
Meanwhile, plans are in place for the staging of the 17th Annual Christmas Term Female Windball Cricket Championship.
According to a release from the Organisers, a decision is to be taken on whether the games will be played under lights, at the national Gymnasium.
Only selected schools will be invited to this year’s event.
