– granted $50,000 bail
Rondell Duncan, 29, of 28 Duncan and Delph Streets, Campbellville, was granted $50,000 bail on Thursday when he appeared before acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court, charged with the theft of 80 plucked chickens, property of Royal Castle and valued at $ 74,000.
He pleaded not guilty to the charge, which stemmed from an incident on September 18.
Police prosecutor Sherwin Matthews told the court that the chickens were recovered because the accused took the police to where the stolen items were.
The prosecutor said that Duncan was caught “red- handed” on camera, and the tape shows that the chickens were passed over the fence and placed into a car trunk.
Bail was granted to the accused, and the matter is to reconvene on November 7.
