The eagerly anticipated clash between local middleweight champion Howard ‘Battersea Bomber’ Eastman and Andrew ‘Sixhead’ Lewis for the national title suffered an unexpected setback and has now been pushed back to October 25, at the Guyana National Stadium.
This was intimated to the media during a briefing held at the Main Street Plaza Hotel yesterday by Promoter of the bout Odinga Lumumba.
According to Lumumba, Lewis suffered an injury to his left shoulder in a sparring session with ‘Deadly’ Denny Dalton which has forced him to temporarily cease training for a while. This is the second time the card has been re-scheduled.
The rest of the card will see US-based fighters Raul Frank and Elton ‘Coolie Bully’ Dharry tackling Winston Pompey and Orlon ‘Pocket Rocket’ Rogers respectively. Gates open from 19:00 hrs and the first fight starts at 20:00 hrs.
Admission is Stands-$1,000, Ringside- $3,000, VIP- $12,000 which will include drinks and snacks, while booths for business entities will be made available.
