Rivalry in the Upper Demerara Football Association (UDFA) first division league is set to resume this evening at the Mackenzie Sports Club ground with a double header.
Clashing in the feature game will be five-time Kashif and Shanghai champions Bakewell Topp XX, who are currently third in the point’s standings with 11, against joint leaders Silver Shattas, on 13 same as Blueberry Hill.
The Bakewell boys will be aiming to take full points but will have to come solid against the Shattas.
Leading Topp XX’s charge will be the tournaments highest goal scorer to date Kurt Murphy and Kevin Beaton.
Tonight’s opening game will see Blueberry Hill, led by Ralston Fraser and Ray Bobbsemple taking on second placed Milerock (12) whose line up include Deon Grandison and latest addition, Mortimer Ramdehol.
The other competing teams are Amelia’s Ward, Winners Connection, and Netrockers all on 8 points and Eagles United on 3. Matches will be played on Wednesday’s, Friday’s and Sunday’s.
The winning team will walk away with a $300,000 with $120,000 set aside for the second placed team and $80,000 for third place.
