Sunburst Camptown’s Premier League goalkeeper Richie Richards has shown his all round ability as a utility player blasting both goals to lead Camptown past Beacon and into the semi-finals of the 2008 DeSinco Trading / Georgetown Football Association under-18 competition.
Camptown used home advantage to good effect in turning back the challenge of Beacon who had taken the lead in the 17th minute through an Andel Norton goal.
But Richards, who played as a midfielder in this game, first drew his team level 8 minutes after being down then fired in the winner in the 50th minute to lead them into the semi-finals and a date with Fruta Conquerors who mauled Thomas United 8-1 in booking their semi-final berth.
The other semi brings together Alpha United and Georgetown Football Club who were 3-0 and 3-1 victors over Flamingo and B.K International Western Tigers respectively. Semi-final action is set for the Tucville ground tomorrow kicking off at 16:00hrs.
