The AL Sport & Tour Promotions / Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport / National Sport Commission Championship is being run in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and schools from West Coast, East Coast and East Bank Demerara along with Georgetown have already signalled their intentions to participate in the tournament.
All rules governing cricket will be enforced except for the boundary which will be counted as 3 & 5 runs respectively, while the foot fault no-ball will also be in effect.
Participants in this programme must be attending school and any school that breach this rule will be debarred from the competition or any other programme in the future.

The first round of matches will be played shortly after the ceremony, but will not be done on a knockout basis. That phase is expected to commence tomorrow.
Sports Officer attached to the NSC, Allister Munroe, who is the Organiser of the event disclosed that so far more than 16 schools have confirmed their participation and among them are L’Aventure Sec, GITC, Freeburg Sec, International Business College, David Rose High, Monar Educational Inst, Goed Fortuin Sec & Uitvlugt Sec., Lodge High, Central High, La Grange, Institute of Business Education and nine times champions Covent Garden Secondary.
Schools that have not confirmed their participation so far can still do so; the drawing of the fixtures will be done before the opening ceremony.
