DEAR EDITOR,
Having seen several contracts being awarded by the government to build roads and bridges recently, I shall be grateful if consideration can be given for an all weather road to be built at Mud Dam Sophia between Bel Air Promenade and New Haven.
I wrote previously on this issue and need not re-iterate my reasons for this request except that Mud Dam, Sophia was in existence since indentureship and is a stone’s throw from New Haven with all the trappings of modern civilization.
Currently, there is a dilapidated bridge, made worse daily by a lumber dealer, linking New Haven to Mud Dam that also needs urgent attention, or another tragedy resulting in the loss of life may occur.
During the rainy season this bridge is submerged and not accessible to vehicles. So, once more, I am appealing to the relevant authority to address this long term need
