A Peace Corps volunteer from the United States of America was beaten unconscious by three bandits, who relieved him of his valuables while he was walking along Main Street on Sunday.
Twenty-five-year-old Josh Vickell, of Colorado, United States of America, was robbed of his laptop computer, a digital camera, his US passport, a credit card, and other valuables at around 12:30 hours.
According to the police, Vickell, who is stationed at Port Kaituma, North West District, was in the city and was walking along Main Street in the vicinity of Middle Street when he was attacked by the three men.
The men cuffed him about his body, rendering him unconscious, before relieving him of the articles.
They then escaped in an unknown direction.
Vickell subsequently regained consciousness and proceeded to the Peace Corps Headquarters on Barrack Street, Kingston, where he received medical attention.
The matter was reported to the police, who made several unsuccessful checks for the suspects. Investigations are ongoing.
