MSC, GNIC and GYO were in winners’ row on Saturday when the Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA) Beharry Cup second division cricket competition continued in the Capitol.
At MSC, the home team beat Diplomats by nine wickets after making 91-1 in 16 overs replying to the 90 all out in 31.5 made by Diplomats to claim five bonus points from the encounter.
Only Sherwin Crithlow (17), Carl Primo (15) and Devon Paul (11) reached double figures as under-15 off-spinner Shaquille Williams bagged 4-23 to take his wicket tally in the competition to 13.
Guyana under-15 skipper Kwame Crosse, who celebrated his 16th birthday on Friday, took 2-8 in a disciplined five-over spell of medium pace bowling for MSC who raced to 67 before Delvon McEwan, who stroked four fours in 37, threw his wicket away with an impetuous lofted drive to deep mid-off.
Thirteen-year-old batsman Vishal Narayan reached the boundary four times in his accomplished unbeaten 31 as MSC romped to their fourth consecutive win in the competition.
GNIC defeated GDF by 59 runs at GNIC after the host made 220 all out from 32.2 overs and then dismissed GDF for 161 all out 27.4 overs.
David Rajmangal slammed four fours and six sixes in 62 while Leswell George 22, Nikito Nester 22 and Orlando Fraser 20 supported as Orvin Williams took 4-20 and Terrence Mc Almont 2-23.
Cleon Hill top scored with 26 for the Soldiers while Vanrick Da Silva 19 and Jemaine Mc Almont 30 offered support. Fraser took 3-52, Travis Walton 2-29 and Nester 2- 25. At GYO, MCYS defeated PSC by 75 runs.
MCYS made 167 all out in 26 overs with Rodrigues Mc Almont (34) Clarence Williams (32) and Daniel Richmond (27) batting well. Treon Williams had 3-18, Lloyd Lyte 2-19 and Latchman Persaud 4-9 for PSC who were all out for 92 in 24 overs despite 46 from Troy Benn. Fenton Persaud captured 5-10 and Sherwin Vincent 3-25.
