Several lucky Lotto players wore beaming smiles on Friday after they were handsomely rewarded in the Lotto ‘Big Money Thing’ promotion.
At the grand drawing, held outside of the Lotto office on Robb Street, three persons won brand new motor cars, while two others took home motor scooters and big screen television sets.
The promotion, which began on August 28 and concluded on September 06 this year, allowed customers to become eligible to win by dropping into entry boxes countrywide $500 worth of non-winning Lotto tickets.
During the six-week promotion, one hundred food hampers were also given out weekly across Guyana.
Winning one of the cars was Danford George, of Wismar, Linden, who could scarcely contain himself.
During a brief interview with the media, he said he has always wanted to be the owner of a car, but could never afford the luxury.
He added that he has been playing Lotto for five years but never dreamed it would have paid off so bountifully.
George expressed gratitude to the Creator and the Lotto Company for ‘making his dream come true’.
The other two winners of cars were Samuel Singh, of Better Hope Village, East Coast Demerara, and Debra Sparrock, of David Street, Kitty.
Both were ecstatic about their new gifts from the Lotto Company.
Meanwhile, Ramotar, whose address was not given, won himself a brand new motor scooter, while Brian Williams, of Lot 4, Suddie Housing Scheme, Essequibo, won a big screen television set.
Relating the luck he has had with the Lotto Company, Williams said he has also won $87, 000, and he urged persons to participate in the company’s promotions, since the lucratives are ‘very rewarding’.
In a brief comment, General Manager Tracey Lewis explained that her company was extremely pleased to be rewarding its supporters. She divulged that the company is set to launch another ‘money winning’ promotion on October 6.
She said her company realizes the need to reward its supporters and, as such, will embark on various promotions geared at meeting the needs of customers.
