DEAR EDITOR,
I don’t know who is Errol Arthur and I don’t want to know based on the racist terminologies that this man writes on a discussion forum that is based in New York and kept alive by a group of awfully racist human beings.
If there is someone by that name, he should tell us who he is, where he works and lives so we can verify that this is his real name.
It is a common pattern with these lost Guyanese souls that were so afraid of Burnham that they ran away and left all their properties and belongings.
After 1992, they surfaced in little Berbice in New York and tell us how they fought with the PPP and the WPA during the seventies and eighties.
Read Ravi Dev, Bisram and now someone by the name of Arthur (there was never a person helpful to the WPA in and out of Guyana by the name of Errol Arthur). Arthur is a deceptive person. He wants to be seen as a credible debater by newspaper readers.
But read the racist things he and his friends say on their blogs and in their discussion forums on the net. It is truly amazing that the PNC, ACDA, AFC, the Guyana Press Association, Guyana Human Rights Association, WPA, Red Thread and others have not asked the US Embassy here to track down their Web Host so these people’s insane racist diatribe could be removed.
I find it sickening that Arthur could compare Mark Twain using another name when Twain wrote his elegant literature to cuss birds and racist minds that attack people publicly and hide behind false signatures.
The comparison is morally repugnant. Arthur says there are reasons why these letter-writers use fictitious names.
The two reasons are quite known to the average Guyanese. One is their families would reject them if they know that they write such atrocities in the newspapers.
Secondly, they would be ashamed to let their fellow workers and the public at large know their identities based on what they write.
Arthur belongs to a group in the US that could attack Freddie Kissoon and others, and when they go in the supermarket and the stores and they run into Guyanese who are hateful at what Guyana has become, no one would know that Arthur and his friends are the ones that support fascism in Guyana. This is the real reason for using pen names.
Arthur becomes more pathetic when he compares anonymous sources in journalistic investigation with racist writers who hide under their mom’s petticoat.
An invisible source in journalism cannot be compared to letter-writers who copiously churn out bile and racist rhetoric against public figures on a daily basis. Arthur and his friends have an obsession with me because I am against elected dictatorship in Guyana.
I have no problem with that. But who are they afraid of when they attack Freddie Kissoon everyday on their blogs and discussion forums and in the newspapers and hide under a false name?
If you can call a person who operates in the public domain a fool, then, have the moral decency to stand up for your conviction. If you are fearful, then get a real person to call him a fool but do not hide from behind a mask.
If there is a person by the name of Errol Arthur, let him cite the newspaper in the US that has weekly nameless columnists. Let him cite the American newspaper that puts out daily ranting by fictitious letter-writers. Only a 10th rate county would accept that social morbidity.
Finally, Arthur says he is looking forward to my interpretation of Martin Carter’s politics. Poor Arthur! He will have to wait forever. I am not inclined and will never be inclined to provide a non-existent human with an analysis of any aspect of Guyanese politics.
Let me close by saying that if there is a real man by the name of Errol Arthur, I would be happy to debate him if he can provide me with details of his real existence so I would know I am not carrying on a polemic with a jumbie.
On Friday night at the wake for the father of Adam Harris, a young man from Kaieteur News staff was telling us about the story of the haunted house in Hague, West Coast Demerara. Someone joined in and said that when you want to see jumbies go into the Chronicle.
Errol Arthur’s first letter on me appeared in the Chronicle. I believe in the existence of jumbies after reading the Chronicle since 1992.
