The Guyana Badminton Association will be sending a Junior Team to compete in the Suriname Junior International Championships to be held in Suriname November 13 to 17.
The tournament will be played at the Under-11, 13, 15, 17 & 19 categories. The Under-17 Junior players had a successful tour in the Trinidad Under ¬-21 Junior Team International Tournament held in San Fernando August 1 to 11.
Guyana were able to get fourth in the final point standing out of the seven Clubs which took part. This was very outstanding as the local Guyanese players were all Under-17.
Prizes won were the boys and girls Most Valuable players award, Youngest boy & girl, Outstanding Players Awards, and second in the boys Doubles points awards.
Meanwhile on the local, the GBA plans to hold its Open Tournament and the Junior age group tournament in October.
